ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With this album John Michael Hersey features songs about a younger, less jaded time of his life. Framed by "Have You Heard the News," a song written with doo-wop legend Earl "Speedo" Carroll of the Cadillacs, a simpler, more wide-eyed and open-hearted time is recalled. Fairy tale as metaphor for infatuation begins the story with the song "Cinderella." Characters, a solitary musician and artist, are introduced in the song "Children." Betrayal and heartbreak enter the narrative with "Somebody Else" and post-romance loss and longing with "My Lover's Song." The protagonist seems to succumb to complete disaffection with "Old Toy Soldier." But with the final song, "Little One," rebirth is on the horizon.
