ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
John Milton is a native of Folkestone Kent, living all his life in the South East corner of England. He has written music for most of his 60+ years and is a self-taught guitar and keyboard player.

In 1981 John co-wrote a song with Mike Stock (of Stock, Aitken & Waterman fame) “1-9 for Lady Breaker” writing under the name “J Gully” and performed by his band “Mr Gentle” The song was an instant success and rose to number 6 in the local charts. The song was released again in 1982 and this time was performed Mike Stock under the pseudonym of Chris Britton.

The song was produced on a label owned by Pete Waterman, and in fact was the song that first brought Pete Waterman, Mike Stock, and later Matt Aitken together to form what become a pop legend.

John then formed a studio band called New Dimensions (featuring the late Keith Harwood on vocals) the band recorded “September Days” at Europa Sound Studios in 1982 - tracks entitled:
1.September Days - 2. Love Refused To Linger - 3. Land Of The Free.

In later years, John trained in Aromatherapy, Reiki and Thermo-Auricular therapy (which involves burning a specially prepared “candle like” tube in the ear to gently clear wax). Thermo-Auricular therapy is designed to relieve pressure in the ears, sinuses, head and throat areas in a safe and gentle manner. It is thought that it was handed down to us by Hopi Indians in Arizona, and should only be practiced by trained professionals.

Whilst giving treatments, John felt the therapy would be improved and enhanced by playing soothing and relaxing music. Unable to find anything suitable he set about writing and producing a CD with this specific treatment in mind. This was named “Mother Earth” after the Hopi belief that we all emerge from our true Mother, the Earth. A follow up CD called Indian Sky has been equally well received. Following the success of these he then created a childrens’ therapeutic CD, Dream Away, perfect for newborns upwards.

The CD has proved to be extremely popular with various therapists. Following on from this, John, already interested in the power of music and sound as a therapy in its own right, believed he could do more. He travelled to Mexico to record whales and other natural recordings with this in mind. By combining natural sounds with his own relaxing music, he has developed a form of relaxation which promotes well-being and naturally decreases the stress which modern living brings to us all. Letting the music “wash away” the stress and bring calm and peace to us is a very simple, easy way to relax, aided by the synergy that John has created.

John has continued to be deeply involved in the music scene. He continues to write, and has now advanced into the production and management side. He has his own record label and recording studio. He has a rare enthusiasm and a gift for music that colours his personality, performances and recordings.
