Album Notes
The Man Down the Road is the first of two singles to be made available digitally since the recording, release and deletion of the concept album The Fen Sessions.

The Fen Session took place over a weekend in February where ten songs were to be produced, promoted and released, and then deleted from distribution on 9am the Monday morning. Each song was released on the hour every two hours starting at 10am on the Saturday.

The results were a collection of tales with the predominant theme of delinquent youth running through them set to the back drop of synth laden tracks. The Man Down the Road is one of the tracks that really encapsulates the project, hence the reason it was chosen as the first single to be taken from the sessions and to be made public since the album was deleted.

The concept of The Fen sessions tested both the creative process, writing and producing songs one after the other with no reflection time was a testing challenge for Davies, Pearce and Hodges (guesting on electronic drums) and was also an experiment into fan engagement via social media for an artist with an underground profile. Some of the results were surprising both creatively and the engagement process. The songs were uploaded via and made available via bandcamp for free, but many of the downloaders opted to to pay a sum of money of their choice for the album.

After much deliberation, a post event survey and emails to those fans who had downloaded the album the decision was made to release two singles to a wider audience to ensure that the full Fen Sessions remained exclusive to those who engaged at the initial stage and therefore keeping the integrity of the process intact.
