ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
An accordion, polka influences, and 70s progressive rock? That's right! Johnny Koenig is teaming up with 70s rock star Ian Lloyd to record a new version of the 1973 Billboard hit Brother Louie! It will be released as a single as well as on Johnny's new full length CD. It will feature Johnny Koenig on accordion, Ian Lloyd on vocals, David Lloyd on guitar and keyboard, and Jon Ihle on guitar, bass, and drums.
Brother Louie tells the story of a white boy falling in love with a black girl, and dealing with his racist parents. When originally released, the song was very controversial and considered taboo. Ian Lloyd, the original vocalist from Stories, continues to perform this song at many of his shows. Johnny Koenig has added "Louie" to his repertoire, engaging many fans outside of the polka scene.
You may also recognize Brother Louie from the FX Television show "Louis CK' as being the theme song.
