ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"From the whimsical, thoughtful Living an Alternative Dream, to the austere, haunting The World of Tarot, to the final rocker The Divide (By the Time I Get to Phoenix), this is a trip worth taking. " Morry Campbell, Song Talk Pod Cast

Dictionary definitions of dreams include 1) sequences of mental images and emotions that occur during sleep and 2) imaginative thoughts that occur in an awakened. With the release of John Raymond Pollard’s new album, “Dreams” takes on new meaning: a collection of a dozen imaginative songs that convey vivid images and carry the listener on an emotional journey.

Do you enjoy rock? Do you prefer ballads? Pollard’s Dreams offers a healthy serving of both. Be prepared to enjoy dreams incarnated in ambient shades, as blues, with West African rhythms, and Latin beats. Each song is a rich tapestry of verse, melody and rhythm. Instrumentation includes acoustic and electric guitars, bass, and violins; keyboards; saxophone, flugelhorn, trumpet, trombone; lush percussion and drums; and, of course, voice.

Explore alternative dreams, sweet dreams, winter holiday dreams, religious dreams, overdue dreams, and Tarot dreams. Listen to the musical magic that results from the sterling work of a very talented musicians, the band who played on John’s two prior releases – Character and Brasilience.

Rhythmic music and rich verse make your Dreams of a musical treat come true.
