Album Notes
"Fish," is part of the ODYSSEY, a collection of songs by John Schneider, which he also produced alongside Paul Leim and Alicia Allain, and recorded with Bob Bullock at Backstage Studios.
John has this to say about the song: It's not often someone writes a song with a one word title. Somehow it instantly says that what's about to follow is "cute." I'm not a fan of cute. So when I pressed play on the demo I didn't have great expectations. Then I heard the beat... then the wisdom, humor and philosophy inside this one word and fell in love. To me this song says what we all need to hear on occasion "Don't overthink it, dummy. When you're in a river... FISH!"
A quick story about tracking day: We were all listening down to the demo when all of a sudden Thom Bresh got up and ran out of the room yelling "I got it. I got it!" Everybody knew that meant it was time to go cut the track! Tom's thumb-picking in this song is nothing short of inspired!

A Good Time Song!
I LOVE THIS SONG!!! I get so into it that I do my own little dance moves emulating what John is singing about. This is not a song I would have instantly have felt John would have selected but it is so much more than A GOOD TIME! There is meaning to it and heart! John and Alicia have worked very hard to find the best of the best with song writers and the perfect Session Krew!!! This song is just a JAM IT LOUD and forget your troubles song! The melody is so catchy but not too cutesy. The chorus is FUN!!! Keep them coming John and Alicia! WOOOO HOOOOOOO!
