Get With It!

by John Siegle

Pop poignancy and lunacy, excellent songwriting and great guitars highlight this collection of songs from Chicago's INSIDERS/Champaign's SCREAMS member John Siegle. Make it to the chorus of 'Just Whistle' and be hooked.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
John Siegle was a member of the Champaign, Illinois powerpop/punk group SCREAMS. They recorded an album for MCA's 'Infinity' label in the late 70's and toured the US, Canada, and Britain.

In '81 John moved to Chicago where he played with MIKE JORDAN and the ROCKAMATICS for 2 or 3 years before joining with Gary Yerkins to form the INSIDERS.

INSIDERS was a strong roots rock band, providing the vehicle for Gary and John's singing/songwriting talents. Backed by James DeMonte on bass, Ed Breckenfeld on drums, and Jay O'Rourke on lead guitar and production, the group scored an MTV hit with the song 'Ghost on the Beach' from the 'Epic' album of the same name.

John continues to write and perform in Chicago. Here's a cd of 11 of his best.

Great guitar-driven pop/rock songs back to front!
Great guitar-driven pop/rock songs back to front! If you dig Rockpile, T-Bone Burnett or Marshall Crenshaw, this one's a no brainer - buy it and Get With It! There's still plenty of summer left for this top-down, turned up gem.

John,
Love the GOTB album and song. two questions.
1) Will you ever tab out the song?
2) Do you still own the Rickenbacher 360? I think I have the same model and I've been told there were only 1,500 of them made.

Pure Pop Smash-aroo
Great rock with guts and heart, sung and played by one of the most under recognized originals of the Great MiddleWest. The real stuff is here; sure there's echoes of Ray Davies, Nick Lowe, NRBQ and more..but that's just icing, because down below, the songs are what counts, and John has 'em, and sings and plays the B G sus out of them as well.
About the best thing I've heard all year, in a year with a lot of great music.

I am glad I bought it.
I am an old Insiders diehard. I will soak up any cd that an ex-insider puts out. That said, this was a little more mellow than I was expecting. John dials it back a notch and gets a little introspective. Some good tunes and worth a listen. I would buy it again, in fact I will be buying it again to pass along to a couple of friends. JPKHERD
