real words from ones heart
good music, good words, good Indian man, words are real, from ones heart, from a true human being learning lifes lessons as we all should, put into words and music for ones to hear and learn and grow as real human beings. Honoring our Indian culture with our sounds and music. Very good cd....music and words from a real wild Indian man of old.

what am i to say about that which becomes censored?
TO ME - this cd is personal. this cd is a painful truth. this cd is timeless. this cd is a historical placeholder of of american ignorance. this cd is beyond insightful. this cd is heartfelt. this cd is awareness. this cd is finally mine.

the most moving music i have ever heard
would love to see John Trudell and his 'Bad Dogs' , hope to see John's movie at the Mill Valley Film Festival in Oct 2005...John's Poems and Music are the Native Stories of the 21st Century, the dawn of a new day for Natives?

CD Baby

Another stunning album by nationally-recognized artist, John Trudell, in a beautiful soundscape mixing spoken word and blues-bred rock, speaking to contemporary Native American issues. With the cry and ache of electric guitar, John's voice of conviction and threads of Native voices and songs, "Blue Indians" is both daringly innovative but yet, the longer you listen, the more you realize how inevitable this music is- just as inevitable as the earth embracing footsteps, how the wind opens its arms to the eagle, how the blues carries the stories of old and new. If your idea of Native American culture is the stories of the 1800s and early 1900s, it's time to hear the voices of those people living today, speaking today, singing and sharing their wisdom today, which stretches far beyond the beginning of this country.

painstakingly beautiful album
sharp and strong socially inclined lyrics with powerful from the heart played music, elegant mix of spoken and sung lyrics embedded in deeply rooted indian chanting and melodies.shows us once more how much was lost during the conquering of the new world and how we forever should be ashamed of our pioneer forefathers...excellent album for those who love true music!
