Album Notes
JoCo Live is a new album from Jonathan Coulton, featuring songs recorded at various shows throughout his December 2012 tour. It rocks.

These are not just board outputs, these are full-on multi-track recordings. We brought them home, picked the best ones, and then worked hard to make them sound as good as possible. Since you asked, yes, we did fix a few mistakes. And we used undisclosed STUDIO SWEETENING MAGIC sometimes, but only in the interests of improving quality (as opposed to outright lying), and never when it took anything away from that feeling of seeing us play live on a stage. So yes, we also left some mistakes in. And we've discovered that we like to play these songs very fast, sometimes too fast (see track 18: "I Feel Fantastic").

These songs were recorded in 2012 by Scott Bozack at Big Gig Productions. They were mixed and made better by Christian Cassan at The Secret Garden in Brooklyn. The album was mastered by Ed Littman. Adam Bernstein played the bass, the mandolin, and the backing vocals. Christian Cassan played the drums. Jonathan Coulton played the guitar and sang the songs.

The venues where these recordings happened (I think - honestly it got a little fuzzy in there, but this is what I think is true). We picked between the best performances, the best sounding recordings, the most exciting tempos, etc. As it turns out, we had a very good night in Dallas. Artificial Heart - Granada Theater, Dallas (and some elements of the space jam stolen from The State Theater, St. Petersburg); Code Monkey - Variety Playhouse, Atlanta; Sticking It To Myself - Granada Theater, Dallas; Big Bad World One - Granada Theater, Dallas; Shop Vac - Granada Theater, Dallas; Want You Gone - Variety Playhouse, Atlanta; Je Suis Rick Springfield - Granada Theater, Dallas; A Talk With George - The Visulite Theater, Charlotte; Good Morning Tucson - The Shrine, Tulsa; Glasses - The Shrine, Tulsa; Blue Sunny Day - Um, not sure; Mandelbrot Set - Granada Theater, Dallas; You Ruined Everything - Variety Playhouse, Atlanta; Re: Your Brains - Granada Theater, Dallas; Still Alive - Granada Theater, Dallas; I Feel Fantastic - Granada Theater, Dallas.
