Album Notes
The response to Harmonium has been FANTASTIC! Fans from around the world are experiencing the beautiful sounds of an American treasure. No other harmonica recording has ever captured the beauty of this instrument so well. Listen for yourself!

OK FANS....HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS...Gene has entered the digital revolution in a big way! Harmonium is coming to Itunes and other major digital distributors very soon. It's a done deal!

Even better news! Gene's sophomore release, tentatively titled "Take Two (and call me in the morning)" is scheduled to be released February, 2006.

It's been a long time coming, but this one will be well worth the wait!

Gene Jones - Harmonium
This is one of the best instrumental CDs of this or any other year! Gene does for the harmonica what Benny Goodman did for the clarinet. His virtuosity and musical sensibility will truly amaze you. This is the CD that can make a harmonica fan out of the most jaded listener. (Believe it or not, my dog loves this CD, and he howls at every other harmonica I've ever played for him!)

Sit back, relax, and take a moment to listen to some (or all) of these great songs. This is easy-listening instrumental music at its finest. The CD features such classics as Delilah, O Sole Mio, and Someone to Watch Over Me. It also features the wonderful arrangements of Tony Ciccarelli and Peter Solley, as well as the beautiful guitar work of Jordan Lee. For a real treat, listen to cut #15, Unforgettable. No doubt, you will agree that Gene Jones is an UNFORGETTABLE master of his craft.

If you love the Harmonica Rascals, the Harmonicats, Pete Pederson, Larry Adler and Stevie Wonder, then you will appreciate this new CD from another great living legend.

But don't take our word for it...use the links on the left and listen for yourself.

The Artist
Gene Jones played harmonica with the greatest harmonica group of all time - Borrah Minevitch's Harmonica Rascals. He was invited to join the group on his 16th birthday, and he toured with the group for two years until Uncle Sam invited him to join the war (WWII). Gene played in the group with Jerry Murad (who later formed the Harmonicats), Pete Pederson, Johnny Puleo, Carl Ford, Ronnie Salzman, Bill Walden and Vito Patierno. Many of the greatest harmonica players of all time came from this group. (Over 100 players were members of this group over its long history).

(Pictures of Gene with the Harmonica Rascals can be seen at the Safe Harbour website - check them out!)

Gene has played the harmonica with many big bands and jazz ensembles for a career spanning over 60 years. His virtuosity has not diminished with time, as you will hear on this beautiful CD. Gene may well be the greatest living chromatic harmonica player alive today.

As you listen to this CD, keep in mind that Gene used only one harmonica (a Hering 6164) for this entire CD. It is mind boggling, to say the least.

If you love the harmonica, this CD is an essential addition to your collection. If you don't care for the harmonica, give this one a listen...Gene might just change your thinking.

P.S. Use the link to send Gene a note with your thoughts. He just loves to get email...

professional and musically right to the point

A Florida fan and longtime admirer!

Brilliant, an outstanding musician and performer!!!
Can't say enough nice things about Gene Jones CD! His music, in my opinion, is positively on the same level with some of the greatest musicians (both past and present) that ever lived. His deliverance of a simple melody coupled with heartfelt emotion and the kind of enthusiasm that only comes from years of playing experience is nothing short of brilliant.
