Album Notes

Jazz trumpeter Rick Jones goes from Maynard to Miles on his new CD STANDARD TIME. Rick currently lives in Las Vegas but for this CD he returns home to take a “musical snapshot” of the Milwaukee jazz scene and legendary guitarist Manty Ellis.

STANDARD TIME is a collection of standards performed as you would hear them if you went to a jazz club in Milwaukee the result is spontaneous and real. The CD was recorded at Sound Sound Studios in Milwaukee with the exception of “I remember Clifford” which was recorded with Milwaukee born pianist Billy Wallace at Rick’s studio in Las Vegas. The CD includes Dorothy Dale singing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” in dedication to our men and women of the armed forces.

Milwaukee has been known as a jazz oasis for decades and these recordings offer a portal to that haven.

Rick is a great plus for the Vegas music scene and deserves so much recognition.
Ricks work is impeccable.I know, I am from the music heretage of the Hollywood music scene of the 50's till the
bottom fell out with the bad, bad unmusic of today. Tnaks to Rick real jazz music lives on. The Album is an unbummer.
