ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
4 musicians, in a single room, making music together. That's what you get with The Jon Fox Quartet's "A Single Step Forward". Recorded in the Performing Arts Theater on the campus of McLennan Community College in Waco, TX in July of 2010, “A Single Step Forward” features 11 bold and melodic original compositions by guitarist Jon Fox. But make no mistake, the interaction and improvisation on the guitarist’s debut recording represent a collective work of the highest artistic standards. Pianist Barry Brake, bassist Greg Norris and percussionist Darren Kuper all bring their own voice to this project (as does Mr. Fox), while at the same time achieving a unified expression and vision that will speak to both the casual jazz fan and the enthusiast alike.
