Album Notes
About Joni Lambert:
"I Choose Love" is an album of uplifting songs for troubled times by singer Joni Lambert. Lambert is best known for her work in the tribute industry as a Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion impersonator who performs playing the role of these great divas in concert. A lifetime singer, actress, and stage performer with years of formal vocal training, Lambert has performed internationally, including in Hollywood and off-Broadway. "I Choose Love" is her debut album.

A Word from Joni:
“For years people have been asking me when I was coming out with an album. I’m grateful for the folks who have supported and encouraged me over the years! Time and circumstances made it difficult to get into the studio. The time has finally come when I feel I need to listen to my friends and fans and produce my first album. I won’t be singing as Barbra or Celine, but as myself – because I have something to say.

Have you noticed how negative the world has become? Television, social media, news networks, and politicians on both sides of the aisle seem to promote division and anger. Instead of focusing on the hate and fear, I want this album to help people focus on hope and joy.

Another motivation for this project was the desire to show myself. When you work as a singer in the tribute industry performing as other artists it’s nice to have the opportunity to simply be who you are. After every show I do as Barbra or Celine I inevitably get asked how I sound as me. As much as I love ‘being’ Barbra and Celine, this album allows me to sing as myself, although my interpretation of these two great legends does make an appearance in the original song, ‘Finding My Voice’.

As an artist making an album has always been a dream of mine. This project was over a year in production. Each song was chosen with the theme of ‘I Choose Love’ in mind. It was also important to me to include a variety of genres, everything from Musicals, Blues, Rock, and Gospel. These different styles represent different aspects of who I am, so I wanted to include them.
The song variety includes cover songs everyone will know, public domain classics, and my original works. I truly hope this album and these songs touch and uplift many hearts.”

Special Thanks:
So many wonderful people chose to back this project. I'm unbelievably blessed by and grateful for each and everyone one of them. Special, heartfelt thanks to:

Stephen Lambert - aka "Slam", aka my wonderful husband, who has always encouraged my career and put up with having a crazy artist for a wife. Our wacky journey is just beginning and there's nobody else in the world I'd want to take it with. He is the love of my life and I'm blessed to be Mrs. Stephen Lambert.

Frank Frizalone - Hello, Gorgeous! More than a Frank Sinatra tribute singer, Frank is a genuinely great guy. Sure he has smooth, power vocals and wonderful stage presence such as other performers can only wish they had. The truth is, though, that Frank's music touches hearts because of his own genuine, warm heart. It's an honor every time we work together, but a special honor to have him in my life.

Peter Secola - Nephew extraordinaire and one very special young man. Never having had kids of our own we are especially blessed to enjoy our nieces and nephews. Peter was my first nephew. It seems like only yesterday I got the call in the college dorm that he was born. Today this auntie can (and does) proudly tell people about my nephew – the doctor.

Dawn Hafner - Friend, sister, drummer, and audio editing adviser and mentor. It’s entirely possible that this album would not exist had it not been for the help, advice, and encouragement I got from Dawn. I've learned so much from this very special lady. Being on the road for gigs with Dawn is a little like running away and joining the circus - I totally mean that in a good way! Just ask her - she'll tell you.

Deborah Kliegl - One of the premises of this album is choosing to love, even when we disagree on things. One of us is left, the other right, yet we grow closer and closer with time. Deb proves my point that we all can "choose love", although in her case being such a special, gentle and loving person it’s pretty darn easy.

Lisa Jordan - Lisa started out as my dentist, but I'm so grateful that I can now call her my friend. She makes me smile on both counts.

Pat Taylor - People with genuinely loving hearts seem harder and harder to find these days. If you need to meet one I'll happily introduce you to Pat. She tops that list.

Natalie Lynne Smith - A fellow songbird and sister in faith, people like Natalie make it easy to choose love. Just follow her example – she does it every day.

Tony and Caroline Pietraroia - We're all have family that we love that we're born with, but along the way God brings people into our lives that become family by choice. Tony and Caroline are a special part of our family and we love them dearly.

Paul Chotkowski - Have you ever known someone who's so wise and so knowledgeable about so many things that you wonder how their head doesn't explode? Add to that kindness and caring and you have my friend and brother, Paul.

Richard Knickerbocker - While he tries to appear "grumpy", his secret is out. Richard's passion for the truth is only out weighted by his integrity and desire to help others. I'm so proud to have him as my friend.

Charlie Gilman - Some people are just wonderful examples for others to look up to. Charlie is one of these people. He and his wife, Jeannine, are the type of people that make you happy just to be near.

Cindy Nelson - College seems so long ago, and yet my roomie, Cindy, is still beautiful, fun, and just an all-around joy. Some things never change.

Karen Crandall - It's unbelievable to me that I started hanging out with Karen on the school playground over 45 years ago (which is weird, since we're both only 30 years old). I've always considered her one of the greatest blessings of my life. Very few people enjoy the gift of having a best friend for a lifetime. I’m so grateful.

Finally and most importantly, very special thanks to the Lord, the source of my joy, to whom I owe everything, and am eternally grateful.
