ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sometimes comical and sometimes dark, these 13 wild and strange stories--all true--look squarely at the absurdity at the heart of the world. Reminiscent of the music of Laurie Anderson, the topics cover quirky personalities, obsessions, religion, vanity, chance, hidden meanings.

Some of the tales are adapted from O'Bergh's book “Song of Fire,” but reinvented in a new context. You’ll meet an armless and legless saint. You’ll meet a retired model with an unusual sensitivity, a cocktail in one hand and a cigarette in the other. You’ll meet Mr. Doe, the complaining student with an armload of lawsuits. You’ll meet the cult leader who dreamed up a diabolical religion even stranger than fiction. And you’ll meet the monk who tells us about his predecessors whose bones decorate the walls of a crypt. These are just a few of the real characters who populate the stories, reminding us of the world’s eccentricity.

Come along then, and explore the Underground Bazaar.
