ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Disaster Song Project is a bluesy, folksy, roots-rock/Americana concept album of songs inspired by the intriguing stories of well known and some not so well known disasters. The collection features arrangements of historic songs from the 1800s and early 1900s about the Chicago Fire, the Johnstown Flood, the Galveston Hurricane, the San Francisco Earthquake, the Brooklyn Theater Fire, the sinking of the Maine, the Chatsworth Train Wreck and the Titanic. The original songs tell the stories of or were inspired by the Sultana disaster, the Ashtabula train wreck, the Cherry Mine disaster, Hurricane Camille, Hurricane Katrina, the Blizzard of 78, the Pioneer Hotel Fire, the environmental crisis, and the Coconaut Grove, Hartford Circus and Station Nightclub Fires. One buyer said "Worth every penny! If anyone thinks these songs will be depressing they'll be greatly surprised - variety, spirit, soul and all that history to boot!"
