Album Notes
Born and raised in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, PA, Jordan McLaughlin found that, maybe, music would be his most reliable companion. The honesty in his lyrics and the emotion of his voice make you feel as if he is confiding in you with his story. His self-titled album provides a gritty, visceral experience that allows you to get to know him personally through life, love, heartbreak, struggle, and triumph.

"His music was honest and real. Although he came off a bit shy, you’d never know by his lyrics and powerhouse vocals. His voice was strong but gentle. Raw and inviting. By the end of the set I felt as if I knew him personally. He’s the type of artist that validates exactly why I love music as much as I do." - Santina Murin for Good Music All Day

"This was my first experience listening to Jordan and I wasn’t disappointed. He ended his set with “Leave a Light On”, which was my favorite of his set, with great guitar strumming and meaningful lyrics. He’s got a bit of a country flair to his sound, but that good, hearty kind of country, not that new country pop stuff that will certainly fade away." - Whitney Lerch for Sound Scene Express

"Nominators herald Jordan McLaughlin as the “best alt country singer in Pittsburgh.” His music is genuine and his lyrics are both relatable and inspiring, they said. With a folksy rock sound, he regularly opens for musicians traveling through Pittsburgh at Club Cafe and Hard Rock Cafe. McLaughlin writes music that spans generations and genres, his nominators note, and he plans to release an album this year. With what he describes as “deeply personal songwriting,” he told The Incline, “It's hard to find a song or lyric of his that doesn't resonate within you.”" - Rossilynne Culgan for The Incline "Who’s Next: Music; 21 Young Leaders Defining the New Pittsburgh Sound"

"A voice with a smidge of grit marks the sound of Jordan McLaughlin. His country tunes fuse with an alternative sound onto full-band songs, while the solo music he performs maintains an intimate folk feel." - Pittsburgh City Paper: Best of Pittsburgh 2017 - Best Alt-Folk/Alt-Country Band.
