ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

By title, just one word: "Mirage". This is an attractive voice, suggestive, exotic air ...that no one
should call to deception: a mirage can be a sublime illusion, but sadly destined to disappointment.
Even more tragic than this one (to discover the artifice) is to believe authentic what the illusion
shows us: there are those who never discover the fiction that surrounds them and live forever
according to it, especially in the art world.
I think that when you finish listening to these five pieces you will feel, as it happened to me,
that a veil has fallen from your eyes, that a mirage has dissolved, making you witness a masterful
synthesis of what jazz can achieve when it has as its object reach the truth.
Thus the sum of the two versions, an eternal standard and a contemporary blues, with the three
original compositions, a modal melody, a ballad and a complex composition inherited from the
cultured tradition and folklore, form a compendium in which the drastic musical contrast it comes
clear to us by the naturalness of the Jazz Trio format.
