ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
By the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, just a few composers wrote major sonatas for flute and piano. This likely happened because of the complete redesign of the flute, with the new Boehm system, which altered it to the point of creating an entirely new instrument.

This CD, with its ardor for the music of these periods, reimagines the music for violin and piano of Claude Debussy and Ottorino Respighi, expanding it into the repertoire of the modern flute.

Music that itself has so much cogency, makes us forget the instrument with which it is played (think of Bach); and the instrument turns into a unique voice expressing the music's essence, which itself, is an extension of the composer.

This CD was recorded in NY in the Summer of 2016, and we thank our families and friends for the big support that we always receive from them.

A special edition of this CD was released on December 17th of 2016 in Soria, Spain.
