From the mountains of North Carolina, singer-songwriter Joseph Houck began writing songs and sharing his raw, acoustic demos at during his college days at Appalachian State.

In 2012, he released a digital EP called Forgotten.

Praise for Forgotten:

“Joseph Houck is one of those rare songwriters. His songs capture all the mystery, sadness, longing and simple joys of being alive. A truly special American voice.”
(Pall of a Past World, Knoxville, TN)

“A masterpiece-- lyrics and music form a great unity.”
(Oorlab, The Netherlands)

“Steeped in the traditions of Appalachian mountain music, but with brilliant and insightful lyrics, Joseph Houck is a special songwriter.”
(Return to Normal, North Judson, Indiana)

In 2013, he co-founded Boone-based rock band Wild Honey alongside talented artists Jeff Martin and Dylan Spagnolo. The trio has played several shows in the thriving Boone live music scene, and last year they played a successful concert of entirely original music at the Ashe County Civic Center.

Over the summer of 2015, Joseph has devoted his energy to the creation of his first full-length album Roam. Enlisting the aid of musicians he respects from throughout the US and other countries, Joseph recorded songs he had been writing for the past few years. With elements of Americana/folk and classic rock/country, Roam features eleven new songs bound by a theme of travel.
