Album Notes
Music has always been my one consistent solace in a world that can be both beautiful and ugly. I feel bonded to the piano as if it's an extension of my body. Music has become such a deep undercurrent that I often find unexpected revelations within the songs I write. Hidden vulnerabilities float to the surface, and although it shocks and unsettles me, it's through these small experiences that I find a way to be free of the chains that I bind myself in.

My music is mostly piano driven, but I often incorporate some electronic elements into my work out of a love for that sensibility. Though I don't like to admit it, my work is very autobiographical. (I only don't like to admit it because it reveals more about me than perhaps I'd normally share with complete strangers otherwise!) I think this is the best type of art, though. When it's personal and it truly means something, then you're're intertwined, enmeshed, inseparable.

My hope, in sharing my music with the world, is that others will feel that same type of connection. My songs may have a specific meaning for me, but your own experience of them affects how they impact you and what their influence is on your life. If my music can inspire you to the same kinds of mini-revelations that it does for me, then I am truly blessed to be a part of something so important to the evolution of another's life.

And, you know, if you just like the way it sounds, that's cool too. :-)

Deep, Dark, Fun, and...
...AMAZING! Joshua P. Kennedy, a primarily piano-oriented musician, is creative and unafraid to expand into a variety of moods, tones, styles, sounds, and instruments throughout his debut album. The tracks create a wonderful flow and emotional story while the physical copy of the album is extraordinary, displaying great artwork with several interesting and dramatic portraits Joshua P. Kennedy and a full lyric booklet. From the dance beat of "The Key (Houdini)," to the subtle punch of reality revealed in "Hidden [Quadrant 2]," to the shadows within "Blackout," and with the kickoff of energy in "Scared of This," Joshua P. Kennedy proves his grasp of poetry and music which leaves you already anticipating a second album for many reasons.
