Album Notes
Legendary singer/songwriter Joyce Sims’s current project “Love Song” is a uplifting Soulful Dance remix with House music elements and a touch of R&B. Worldwide release July 28th 2016 on August Rose Records.
Up-tempo remixes of the album’s title track by Derrick Ricky Nelson and DJ Sir Charles Dixon.
Her "Love Song" album was released on August 31st, 2015.
Music journalist Justin Kantor reviewed the Love Song album calling it “uncomplicated and sophisticated, brought forth with a vocal zest that needs no frills to get the point across. Both of these qualities are what makes Sims a viable writer and singer whose music at large is not defined by age or arrangement, but by grace and presentation”, says Kantor. Recommended.
Singer/Songwriter Joyce Sims had her first hit single in 1987 with "(You are My) “All and All".
She topped the R&B and Dance charts in the U. S., and the pop charts internationally. In the UK Joyce debut album “Come Into My Life” was certified gold.
In the U.S. the album charted Billboard R&B top 10.
Joyce's music has been recorded and sampled by such diverse musical icons as jazz vocalist Randy Crawford.
Sampled by R&B singer Angie Stone, rapper Snoop Dogg, and featured in the film "Species".
Come Into My Life and All and All have become club classic, and can still be heard playing in the club, and on mainstream radio.
Joyce is continually touring, and recording. She returned to the charts in 2006 with the single “What The World Needs Now Is Love”, the lead single from her album
“A New Beginning”. The single debuted at #19 and, climbed into the top 10 on the Billboard Club play chart.
A gifted singer and songwriter Joyce writes all her songs, and is a trained pianist. Joyce says she loves writing at the piano. “Joyce always had a little “Edge” to her work, and a unique tonal progression, which became her signature sound.” (About.com)
Joyce's performances have taken her all over the world to Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. With a strong presence in the U.S., and Overseas, Joyce said, “I’m excited about my music and what the future has to bring”
In May 2012, Joyce released the EP “Running Back To You/Back In Love”, on her own imprint August Rose Records. The EP was well received at club and radio and peaked at #18 on the UK Upfront Top 40 chart.
In 2014 Joyce released the single "All I Want Is You”. Lewis Dene, USA East Coast Manager for Kings of Spins DJ pool described the "All I Want Is You" single as “Totally refreshing, original and really addictive!" The single went straight to the top of the Kings of Spin Dj record pool chart.
Joyce Sims is a universal musical icon. She demonstrates time and time again that she can deliver whether that be superb live performance or incredible releases.
