ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Mount Tabor United Methodist Church Youth Orchestra began performing in Winston-Salem in 2014, providing an outlet to young musicians who wished to combine their passions for music and community service. It has grown to include more than 40 students who regularly perform together in churches, homeless shelters, group foster homes, and retirement centers in the Piedmont Triad.

Several of the senior members of the group came together in 2018 to celebrate the Christmas season of giving by recording some of their favorite arrangements for this project. In keeping with the service-oriented mission of the larger Youth Orchestra, the album was produced by Piano vs. Poverty, whose mission is to encourage people to use their talents for the benefit of those in need. PvP puts this concept into practice by functioning as a nonprofit record label and donating the sales proceeds of its recordings to charitable agencies working to alleviate the effects of poverty.

It is the hope of all involved that you will experience the joy of hearing these talented musicians as well as the joy of knowing that buying this album is helping to make the world a better place by providing aid to those who are struggling financially.
