Album Notes

Until The Dawn, Joy Zimmerman's new album recorded at Azalea Studios in Nashville, highlights her songwriting and vocal talents in an eclectic mix. As a singer/songwriter, she has been compared to Ingrid Michaelson, Colbie Caillat, and Natalie Merchant. Joined by Nashville stand-outs Ron Krasinski, Chas Williams, Dave Hoffner, Dave Webb, Tim Lorsch, Jim Hoke and Nancy Moran, this album blends music, passion and soul.

"Joy Zimmerman's CD, Until The Dawn, is aristically daring and eclectic yet inviting and familiar at the same time. Her vulnerable and relatable lyrics bodly address life's dichotomies - love and heartbreak, hope and betrayal- while her engaging melodies allow the listener to go from rockin' to touching or whimsical to angry. You'll find yourself singing along...and your favorite will change with your mood."
--Nancy Moran, singer/songwriter and artist development coach

“…As a singer, Joy moves deftly between elements of Alison Krauss, Aimee Mann, Ani DeFranco and other distinctive artists, but still makes each song her own. As a bonus, Joy's voice is warm and inviting, and she has a dead-on sense of pitch-so much so that I've never needed to "tune" a single note she has ever sung in the studio. That's virtually unheard of in contemporary recordings-a testament to her outstanding skill and techniques as a vocalist. If you haven't had the pleasure of hearing her music yet, you need to soon!"
--Fett, independent producer/engineer, Azalea Music Group, Nashville

Starting violin before walking to kindergarten, Joy played classical music and blended in choirs until deciding to try her hand at guitar. This led to the thrill of songwriting and the discovery of her solo voice. A multi-instrumentalist, Joy performs her own songs and a wide variety of cover songs in her live performances.
