Album Notes
Run is a story about a wolf on the run from a relentless hunter. The wolf is unaware of his pursuer’s motive but instinctively knows the hunter is determined to take him down. The hunter tracks the wolf from dawn to dusk. He sits by his crackling fire at night and drinks while lost in unsober thought. The wolf quietly watches the hunter from a safe distance while trying to understand his hatred.

As he faces the various moments of danger, the wolf becomes increasingly conscious of human nature. The wolf evolves while the hunter regresses, driven by the instinct of a wild predator. The humanity between them is in essence exchanged.

As dawn breaks, the deadly dance between them resumes until one moonlit night when they finally come face to face. What follows is not what one might expect. Their destinies are intertwined in the eternal wheel of life and death and its ultimate significance. In the end, who will survive?

Musically, Run presents a wide range of musical dynamics progressing slowly from a subtle softness of acoustic guitar mixed in with the wolf's cry, to an ultimate climax. Some of the musical influences that can be heard within the song are: Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen, Rush, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai and Bruce Cockburn--to name but a few.

Gilles Cholette (drums) and Glen Scammell (bass) lay down a solid and symbiotic rhythm section performance. Rey Cote on lead guitar pens a very original solo to suit the song's mood, while JP Ranger completes the works with solid vocals and acoustic guitar performances. The result is a solid piece of music with a driving rhythm.

Run is replete with a real wolf who cries, perhaps for all animals of the Earth and the way in which we treat them. "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” (Mahatma Ghandi, 1869-1948).
