Album Notes
On his third instrumental album J.R. Leonard goes back to the the early days of country music.
Traditional instruments such as banjo, mandolin, fiddle, acoustic guitar and acoustic bass mixed with pedal steel, electric guitar and drums bring old and new together to J.R's. own unique sound.

You will find slow moving and bluesy country ballads like "Bosque Redondo" or "Out Of The Past". Then he changes the pace with tracks like "Bluegrass Flirtation or" Sheridan Lake" to traditional bluegrass. His edgier side he show us with "Hobo Train" and "Broken Boots" in the driving Nashville Sound of the 60s. "Swingin 'On The Porch" bring back the Western Swing atmosphere of the 30s of the last century and reminds us of Hank Thompson or Cliff Bruner.
"Out Of The Past" is an instrumental album recorded with the mindset of the free-living American west.
You love Chet Atkins, Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, Lester Flatt, Doc Watson, Lonnie Johnson, Merle Travis and many more? Sure you love this album.
