ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Jrome Andre is an award-winning performer who captivates his audience with raw soul-stirring performances. This fierce creative spirit has performed in theatres and clubs around the world several times over and has also appeared on Broadway.
He has performed in the musicals Dreamgirls, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Hair and shared the stage with Dee Dee Bridgewater, Stephanie Mills and Tremaine Hawkins among others. He has also toured with the “Godfather of Urban Theatre,” Shelley Garrett, performing in the hit play “I’m Doing the Right Thing with the Wrong Man.”
When Jrome is not performing musical theater, Jrome is writing and recording music. He continues to perform locally and internationally with his own band.
Jrome has toured with his godmother, the legendary Bettye LaVette and funk innovator Bernard Purdie. He has recorded several singles with Scipio Sargeant on World Music Records including: “Love Hangover,” “Set Me Free,” “U That,” “Change,” and “Don’t Play with My Love” which Jrome co-wrote with Scipio. Jrome has also written and recorded “Let Me Be (The One)” with Jon Lenox Evans. In between recording, he also appeared on the “Late Show with David Letterman” as part of the Late Show Choir.
In 2012, Jrome released “Evolution,” an EP of six sultry old school songs produced by Eric Smith which featured a rendition of “I Can’t Make You Love Me (If You Don’t).” Jrome also appeared in a music video for this song which can be found on YouTube. That same year, Jrome also recorded the Christmas single, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” In 2015, he recorded the Dance single, “Tell Me,” produced by Sterling Void. All recordings can be found on Amazon, Trax Source and iTunes.
Recently, Jrome released the song “Possessed in the Spirit” which was remixed and produced by Mr. Boogie; and stayed on the African Dance charts for eight weeks. As a member of Strafe’s Hard Soul Meditation, the band recorded and released the single “Don’t Wanna Be Broken” with plans to release more singles soon. In 2018, Jrome is working with producers Strafe (known for his hit “Set It Off”), Jon L. Evans and Lou Reach and releasing “Walls,” a new EP which features the gems “Love Hangover,” “Possessed” and the latest, “Let it Fall.”
Following the mantra of love and truth, Jrome Andre says: “Courage…Without courage you can’t love! You can’t stand for what’s right! Without courage, you cannot win!”
