Album Notes
"Early in 2018, I lost my father, Jay Curtis, to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). It would impossible to overstate his influence on me and my art. In addition to his legendary career in television and promos, Jay released two books of poetry in the last couple years of his life, chronicling his battle with ALS. The books are IN AND OUT OF DREAMING and FLAWS IN THE ROAD (both of which are available on Amazon). At the time he was diagnosed, I started writing a classical-style piece called 'Amsterdam Square'. Coincidently, Jay had a poem from IN AND OUT OF DREAMING called 'Damn Amsterdam'. Joining together his words with my music, 'Amsterdam Square' is a tribute to my father. Just as a portion of my father's poetry books goes to ALS support organizations, I plan on doing the same with proceeds from this song. And to my father I say thank you for everything you did. I would not be the man I am today without you. I'll see you in my dreams."
