Kick-Ass Rock 'n' Roll ala Supersuckers, Devil Dogs
Make Auto Rock slams into gear with a rockin' instrumental and the foot doesn't come off the pedal until this slab of rock crashes and burns on the 13th track. Great gearhead inspired rock in the Supersuckers, Devil Dogs vein. Any fan of those bands will dig this.

If straight up rock 'n' roll is your soup-de-jour, then the new CD by Jukebox Overdrive: "Make Auto Rock" is yer brimmin bowl of minestrone, plus crackers. Melding a tasty blend of the raw rock songstylings of Social Distortion, with the sheer punk-intensity of NOFX / Deftones and the "Americana" purity of the Heartbreakers, these guys make no bones about what they set out to do: make you feel good and shake yer ass.
Whether it's a Rally cry to pull an all nighter on "Come Out Tonite", or a longing for summertime fun with yer "Top Down" cruising around, or any of the other fine cuts on this disc, the sheer energy pouring out of the speakers is undeniable. My personal faves? The aforementionned "Come Out" and "Stay", and "the Curse" which has a great "stuck in yer head all day" type riff.
The group plays nice and tight, the drumming is lively, the guitars crunch and squack, and the bass bounces around holding it all together. Raw edgy leads / melodies. A nice treat start to finish, including the sneaky hidden track (#16)...(curiously, my right channel audio kept cutting out on the hidden track, on more than 1 player)....but really cool to these ears.
Seek it out, and turn it up.

Hard-edged power pop with some serious riffs
Great sounding band with gutsy guitars (a la Steve Jones or Ramones) will have you hitting the replay button before you get through the first play of this fine CD. Inane pop lyrics (e.g. Top Down) fit perfectly into tunes designed for nothing more than rocking and rolling. These guys could quite likely get to be very big. Hear them now before while they still have a nice rough edge.
