ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"One microphone, one guitar, one voice. Twenty-five years ago, Julia Ecklar and a handful of dedicated friends gathered for a day of intimate recording in one of their homes. That project -- 'Traveller' -- marked the beginning of a career, and is reproduced here in CD format for the very first time."

We're reprinting this one by popular request from Julia's most fervent fans.

Recorded 25 years ago, this limited-edition CD comprises 17 of Julia's rarest and earliest works, recorded in her teenage years. Each CD also includes a copy of the Traveller Songbook viewable on your computer in PDF format, as well as a new introduction by Julia.

If you're a serious Julia Ecklar fan or collector, you'll want this. We're only doing one printing. When these are gone, they're gone.

Imaginative, Haunting
This CD is really great, I bought it mainly for the song Ballad to a spaceman, but I have found that most of album makes me remember many differnt stories I have read and will read again now. Thank you very much for the wonderful music...CB

Haunting, Emotional, enduring melodies and lyrics
Brekke's Lament was the main impetus for purchasing this CD. The lyrics and melody match the exquisite anguish in Anne McCaffrey's description of a dragon rider's emotions in a time of crisis. Reading Brekke's story with the music playing in the background brought me right onto Pern hearing the echo of her cry.
The Traveller, song and lyrics - is haunting, sad, and tragic. It is a reminder of unfulfilled longing. As beautiful as it is, I rarely play it, as I have to live with choosing to stay on Earth, and go home only in my dreams.
