ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
June Asai aka. J-ASIA is a mixed race, bilingual, Japanese and American (French) singer/songwriter/producer. She has an EDM feature, “Warriors,” released April 2015 with power duo, Levi & Suiss and Leng Yein on Joy Records currently playing in clubs all over the world. In addition, she has featured on songs placed with Fashion One TV. A YouTuber, she releases covers and/or original song videos at least once a month - her latest being a cover of Belle’s Song, “Little Town,” from Disney’s, "Beauty and the Beast,” where she performs 38 characters in one video! Not stuck in one genre she is always working with a variety of talented producers as well as writing for placement opportunities.

Her debut EP, “Vivacious,” would not be possible without the patience and talent of her wonderful producer/songwriters Richard Ashford and Leigh Fuge. Her EP was conceptualized two years prior to it’s official release in December 2015 and it has been a huge project and learning experience. It was started at a time when classically trained, Asai, had just begun to explore her non-classical voice and potential. It was first released on SoundCloud in 2014 and has since undergone some edits.

After releasing her EP, she is looking to expand more fully into releasing new music in the R&B genre. This is where her voice and songwriting talent truly shines. R&B is raw and real and more flexible vocally. She can’t wait to show everyone all that she has created! Please stay tuned for more!

Having lived abroad in England, Singapore and Japan, she has been exposed to a variety of music and culture which has had a major impact on her life as a singer and songwriter.

Music Philosophy:
“I like to think of my songs as time capsules capturing how I feel at a given moment. Whether fleeting or long-lived, I think all feelings are worth expressing. Sometimes when I’m feeling lost I put my thoughts into music and life just gets better.” (June Asai)
