Album Notes
In the first part of this CD, Justin F. Stone speaks from the heart about his experience with T'ai Chi Chih and about what you can expect to gain with regular practice. He relays anecdotes about the many benefits that have accrued to his students since he originated the movements in 1974. And while weaving apropos stories and conveying down-to-earth information about Eastern philosophy, he also discusses the all-important nature of Chi. He speaks with quiet strength and inner wisdom about softness, continuity, and "effortless effort." He quotes from the Lotus Sutra: "From the state of emptiness, each man's body is a body pervading the universe. His voice is a voice filling the universe. His life is a life without limit."

In the second part of the CD, Justin fields insightful questions about this spiritual discipline. While talking about his own deep awareness, he also calls on Zen Master Hakuin, Sufi masters, Zen writer Paul Reps, and others to reinforce his teachings. Among the topics: What is the importance of softness in T'ai Chi Chih practice? What is karma? What is the relationship between karma and Chi? Why don't you (Justin) speak about the intellect when discussing T'ai Chi Chih?
