Album Notes
Just Us Kitchy Retro are a duo from the North East of England. Their debut single, ‘The Banker’ is a track bursting with life and positivity, musically juxtaposing the story which follows one man’s struggle through a world hit hard by recession.
The percussive blend of acoustic guitar, electric bass and smooth male vocals will have you singling along in no time to this catchy tune with a great chorus.

The song has lyrics reminiscent of Bob Dylan and a lively percussive, country sound with overtones of Kenny Rogers, Jason Mraz and Lonnie Donegan. A sound bursting with life, home grown, home recorded and heart felt. ‘The Banker’ is a song about the people, for the people, an upbeat sound that breaths new life in times of adversity.

We all realise the hardship that many people have been through, including Mark Scott, guitarist and vocalist of Just Us Kitchy Retro, who has written about his personal experiences in ‘The Banker’. Mark was once a software developer, but due to the recession changed direction to follow his lifetime musical ambitions. Bass player and percussionist Lucy Dawlish has a similar tale to tell. At the age of 38 she decided to retrain as an interior designer graduating with a 1st in 2012, yet still unemployed or on the dole(welfare). They now support each other in their musical ambitions and the release of their first single (as a precursor to their forthcoming album) shows how people can adapt and flourish with support, resilience and a positive attitude.

Just Us Kitchy Retro have been playing to audiences across the North East of the UK.
They have recently played at an event for Judy Kitchen MBE where she said:
“Your music brought the evening alive, but what I loved the most was seeing how much you love playing your music together it was infectious and everyone felt apart of your performance"

Music has really turned Mark and Lucy’s lives around and are really looking forward to releasing their Album in Autumn (Fall) 2014
