Album Notes
Carnegie Cafe was conceived out of a period of extreme anxiety and panic disorder. Fall 2012, after experiencing chronic mental health issues, I decided to take a leave of absence for treatment purposes. Throughout the healing process, I used music as my medication. Recording my thoughts and frustrations in the form of poetry, I was inspired to create an album that would inspire my peers through similar situations and enlighten society on the college experience. This project was my anchor as I maneuvered my grievances and restored myself to stability.

"I thought of it as my personal responsibility to connect with the plight of all students through the Carnegie Cafe project. Prior to taking my leave of absence, the anxiety had me believing that I was on the brink of insanity and that I would never get better. Through a 3 week period, I experienced everything that extreme anxiety had to offer.
Obsessions, Compulsions, Fears, Suicidal Thoughts, Depression. EVERYTHING. I just want to show people that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that they are not alone. I brought myself back to stability and inner peace, and I hope this project gives people what they need to do the same." - Kai Roberts
