Album Notes
Kalan Wolfe is a Medicine musician living in Quilcene Washington. His music is a classic, yet unique blend, of Folk and Rock, with a Reggae back bone, and an acoustic sound. Kalan is soon releasing his second album, titled “Magic & Gravity”. This album contains the songs “Gratitude” and “Man Song”, which have been long requested by listener’s. While his full band albums show excellent expression and representation of the songs, Kalan brings his biggest energy to his live performances, playing with a presence and dynamic which draws people in. He is a regular at the Okanogan County Barter Faire, Sirens Pub in Port Townsend, Wind Rose Winery in Sequim, The New Moon in Port Angeles, and, on occasion, The Papa’aloa Store, Sea Dandelion Cafe, and the Kava bars on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Kalan Wolfe has played with many bands over the years, including “Impeachment Party” in Sequim WA, and “Barefoot Brothers” in Bellingham WA. He has experience playing Punk Rock, Reggae, Folk and has learned several styles and instruments along the way. In 2017, with the help of sound engineer Chuk Mitchell, he branched out with his first solo album titled “The Butterfly”. All instrumentation on the album, including drums, guitar, bass, vocals and sitar, are the work of Kalan Wolfe, with the exception of cello by Sage Coy, flute by Leaf Lovetree, and cajon by Kalan's father, Karl Hatton. Karl and Kalan's sister Olivia, often accompany him at shows all over the Olympic Peninsula and beyond.

Now Kalan prepares to release his second album “Magic & Gravity” on January 10 2019. This will be his first album to be available on most music platforms. You will be able to find it on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Youtube. Working again with sound engineer Chuk Mitchell, in an off grid recording studio, he invited the family to join in on the recording process. His Daughter Ember is heard singing on “Bapa’s Song”, while his wife Keely Hatton sings on “Keely’s Song”. His father Karl plays Conga’s and Cajon on “Coastal Creature” and “Bapa’s Song”, and Kalan’s grandparent’s, Trevor and Laurel Gloor, perform on the song “Grandpa’s Guitar”.

Kalan lives in Quilcene Washington in a yurt in the woods with his wife, Keely, and children, Finn, Wren, Hazel, August, Ember and Hunter. Recently he enjoyed the company of step daughter Aliyah, who came to Hawaii for the first time on his last mini tour of the big island. He enjoys carpentry, creating wire wrapped jewelry, and playing with his kids.
