Album Notes
Ms. Esperian catapulted to the world stage as a winner of the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition in her early twenties, becoming one of the leading sopranos of our time. She has paired with such opera greats as Mr. Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and Jose Carreras, appearing in the world arenas of New York, Milan, Paris, London, Munich, and Berlin. Ms. Esperian has been featured on film in the documentary “Distant Harmony” highlighting her groundbreaking performances in China with Luciano Pavarotti. While she continues to perform on the great opera stages of the world, Ms. Esperian remains true to her origins by making her home in Memphis, Tn, close to her mother’s Mississippi beginnings.

This collection of love songs, arranged and conducted by Sam Shoup, vividly recalls the sounds of Nat Cole, Frank Sinatra, Doris Day and many other great singers. As Kallen says, “These are songs of a bygone era, a time of romance, and also, a time of great hope.”

Lover Come Back
I wish I were better with words, because anything I write cannot do justice to this album. I have never in my entire life heard an album of this quality. It is pure magic!!

Lover Come Back
For those who think opera singers can't do crossover...this is the perfect album. Ms Esperian brings warmth and radiance to each song...and the orchestrations are superb. RECOMMENDED !!!

stupendous voice, just when i thought golden age opera was over; usually dont ca
stupendous, singular voice. does blues and torch songs with real feeling and emotionll (take that doris day even though i was a fan of your movie & song,
"love me or leave me.")

usually, i do not care at all for opera singers singing in other genres--the songs usually sound "perfectly, exquisitely sung" without any soul that popular singers can give it. Not so here; moreover, kallen gets all the feelings, emotions in there, with beautiful, exquisite sound as well.

i weep that there are no recordings of operas or arias available--YET!!
