How to Practice:
Lying down in bed (flat), height under the knees
On a yoga mat, with height under the knees
Can also be practiced side-lying or seated if necessary
If you need height under the head, make sure it is only enough to bring the forehead and chin into one plane (not too high).
During yoga nidra, your body temperature will drop, so you may want to cover yourself with a blanket.
Once you are in yoga nidra, try not to move. If you need to move, do so mindfully and return to stillness as soon as you are able. This will enhance the effect of the yoga nidra by creating a powerful relaxation response.

When to Practice:
In the morning when you first wake up to set the tone for the day.
In the evening just before you go to sleep to let go of the day.
In the afternoon when you get tired. Yoga Nidra balances the blood sugar.
