ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Kaona's "Rhythms of the Earth." A rootsy, gospel reggae album fused with native Hawaiian instruments (such as the 'ohe hano ihu - bamboo nose flute). Recorded at a studio on the Big Island of Hawaii in the heart of a 1907 lava flow.

Kaona which literally means "hidden meaning" in Hawaiian poetry personifies this rootsy Gospel Reggae group. Their message rings clear with certainty and crucialness within Reggae grooves, Hawaiian Slack Key (Ki ho'alu) nuances, Bamboo Hawaiian nose flute ('ohe hano ihu) and rich vocal harmonies such as found on the band's hit "Representation."

This album features:

KIMO - guitars, vocals and Hawaiian nose flute
JODY- bass guitar, vocals and flute
KIRK - guitars
JABO - drums and percussion

WOW! POWERFUL
The main reason I like it is because of the powerful words...a great evangelistic tool. I love the sounds, the instruments and the voices and words can be heard clearly. I originally thought to use it for the younger generation....I took it to a prayer and worship meeting to play one or two...my friend in her 80's loved it and insisted we listen to all of it....so we did. Thanks! May Yah bless you with many more.

It's Own Unique Respect and Anointing
Kaona was a concept developed in the heart of Kimo H. Kimo would say it is the heart of God. I was with Kimo during the time of Kaona's birth and development, so you are getting a first generation review here (for what it's worth). "The Hidden Meaning or (Message)" was the essence of why Kaona received their name. Kimo told me there is a hidden message in the Word of God that is as simple as God's love for us. You may say ... 'What is so hidden about that? Everyone knows God loves them or at least most people do" As right as that might sound I am afraid it is not true. The meaning and message of God's love and purposes, His intentions toward us, His plan for our lives is not merely something mentally ascended to. Certainly God's love shown to us through the dead, burial and resurrection of His dear Son Jesus is something anyone can receive without having much understanding at all, because to believe (not understand) in Jesus is the requirement to receive all the promises God has already provided for the whole world. Truly believing in Him is the place where spiritual understanding begins. But once we believe and the understanding comes it is not the time to stop believing. On the contrary, it is only the beginning. You might say that believing is the channel God uses to bring the understanding of His true love and purposes to us. Kimo understood this, as did all the early Kaona fellowship. So if you are still having difficulty in understanding what God’s Kaona is …. you might want to go to the source for help.
John 5:24
"I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.

Luk 11:9,10
"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Some rootsy reggae! Many are called, but few are chosen.  Righteous sounds! Definitely no ‘ganja’ here.
