Album Notes
1. The act of returning back to ones country

Hailing primarily out of Hawaiʻi, Kapu System is made up of 7 talented and musically experienced youth who all share a common love for music with messages of truth, hope, consciousness and positivity. They have all found that "roots reggae" music delivers an unexplainable vibe which helps get these messages across. Whether its in a lovers, roots or dub style, the feeling of heavy drum and bass, chucks of an axe and bubbly keys mixed together with perfectly timed harmonies, echoes and reverb will definitely set your mind at ease.

The traditional kapu system; once established to keep law, order and balance within the communities of Hawai'i to suit the functions of religion and culture and to ensure that life is sustained properly in these islands precious ecosystem. After this system was well established to fit the needs of the Kānaka Maoli, it was abolished with the undoubted "help" of Western imposed beliefs and culture.

Founded in roots and culture, the band Kapu System, have the desire to re-awaken the law, order, peace and balance which use to occupy these islands and to aware todays society of the truth of the past and present of Hawaiʻi so that we can bring justice into our future.
