Album Notes
Karen Daniel is an award-winning writer/producer of children's music. Daniel is well-known for her original songs of Jewish holidays, prayers and lifestyle. She lives, works, writes songs and sings in Nashville, Tennessee. Her Teachable, Singable and Jewish series is known, taught and sung in many religious schools; her music travels as far as Germany and Australia. You can download any number of her tunes, such as Sing a Song about a Rainbow, Stomp Stomp Stomp (the cookie song), or Mama's Chicken Soup, from cdbaby as well as most digital sites.

On her newest CD, a winner of a Parents' Choice Recommended Award, "Short Stuff and other children's songs," she plays acoustic guitar as well as keyboards and percussion, and is joined by some very special friends--Michael Black on harmony and Nathan Daniel on brass! There are some new songs on this CD, and interpretations of traditional songs such as Frere Jacques and the Hushabye/Pretty Little Horsies lullabye. This album breaks from Karen Daniel's genre of "Jewish music" and is geared toward all children who need a boost of energy (Tilly Go Round, written for her granddaughter, an action song), some better self-esteem (Short Stuff, encouraging us to be happy at any size or age) or a helping hand (Carousel Ride). But what never changes with Karen Daniel's music is the instinct for making children smile and sing along.
