Album Notes
Karen has lived and worked in Calgary, Alberta for over twenty years, and has had the good fortune to play and perform with some of the most talented and eclectic performers around, from theater orchestras and Calgary Opera, to beat poets, improv world musicians, and punk alternative bands. A classically trained violinist, Karen has embraced numerous genres and styles to add to her repertoire, always searching for new collaborations and projects to stretch her training and imagination. Her current style embraces jazz, gypsy, celtic, blues and cross-genre improvization, and is constantly evolving with each new project. She also incorprates expression, movement, costume, and dance into her stage acts to bring colour, emotion and dimension to the music.

Karen currently has 2 albums: 'Estryne' (2004), and "Pedestrian (2009). Over the last few years she has performed and recorded with many different groups and projects including Fiddlers Green, The Bow Djangos, Durango Ridge, the Neil Gunhold Duo, the Shane Chisholm band, Vi An Diep, and Fiona Malena's Flamenco Dance Company.
Karen was recently profiled in TravelAlberta's September e-newsletter, and in Cornish World Magazine.
