ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
When explaining how Kari & Billy formed as a duo the best words to use would be God ordained. Growing up 2,000 mi. apart and coming from two different worlds the two finding each other through music can only be described as a miracle!

Favoring the arts, Kari Nelson-Arnold spent most of her time growing up in northern Minnesota taking violin lessons at the Manitoba Conservatory of Music in Winnipeg Canada , acting in plays and putting on concerts with her sisters. Kari always enjoyed country music and had her first experience playing with a country band when she joined the Nite Ryders, a local band, her Jr. and Senior year of high school. After graduating Kari made the move to Nashville, TN where she continued her pursuit of a career in the music business. Kari went on to play fiddle and sing back up vocals for artists such as John Rich/ Big $ Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Trace Adkins, Steel Magnolia's, Joanna Smith and more.

Billy Arnold on the other hand grew up in south central Florida where he was happiest running barefoot carrying his fishing pole and bb gun in pursuit of a honey hole. While he loved country music and lived a lifestyle that fit the songs to a T, Billy wouldn't take the stage singing until his early 20s. His pure country voice was discovered on accident  by a friend who overheard him singing and encouraged him to enter a contest. From there came a whirlwind of events which resulted in Billy touring the country as the lead singer for a band called The Backwood Boys. He taught himself to play guitar and harmonica in the many hours spent riding down the road heading to the next gig.  In his the on the road Billy opened shows for artists such as Craig Morgan, Gary Allen, Mark Wills, Aaron Tippin and many others. His travels finally led him to Nashville which is where he recorded an all self-written, self produced album and eventually met Kari. Their similar values, love for true country music and views on life caused the them to hit it off immediately. Billy always appreciated a fiddle in his music and preferred Kari's tone, sound and the energy she brought to the stage to any other and Kari couldn't get enough of Billy's smooth vocals and talent for writing songs with relatable, raw lyrics.

Circumstances finally occurred that allowed Kari & Billy to form as a duo and that's when the real magic started taking place. Together the two have opened for artists including Kellie Pickler, Montgomery Gentry, Chris Young, and Collin Raye and have played some of the largest state fairs, festivals and rodeos in the country! They have recorded a 16 song album, again all self written and co-produced with Kari which features some of his finest lyrics and melodies yet. The album features songs from the heart with a conversational tone and heavy fiddle. When song writing, Billy focuses on feelings and situations that he believes many people from various walks of life will relate to. Simply stated he's said he draws much of his inspiration from Kari!  At a Kari & Billy show you will see them as themselves. Rather than taking on an on-stage persona, they prefer to interact with their audience on a personal level. Their shows offer high energy, good humored fun and spontaneity that can be enjoyed by country music fans of all ages!
