ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
• Since I love my songs to feel like soundtracks to miniature movies, I always loved the idea of doing a whole album that focuses on one story. I was very much inspired by a Celtic album called “A Celtic Romance” by Mychael and Jeff Danna which is a beautiful collection of songs that tell the story of Lladdain and Curithin (an old Irish love story ) and I loved how it told this one story as if it was a soundtrack to a movie that was never made. I knew for a long time that I wanted to do something in similar vein but needed to settle on a story I was passionate about telling.
If it’s not already clear, I’m a big lover of History and find so much inspiration in the stories of our past. There are a lot of figures in History that I’m deeply fascinated with from “Bonnie Prince Charlie” to “Marie Antoinette” to “Boudicca” but one woman has always stood out for me, and that’s Henry VIII second and probably his most famous wife, “Anne Boleyn”.
Her story is so captivating, from her humble beginnings and her rise to the throne to her spectacular fall and execution. Anne is such a colourful character with so many shades to her personality that I couldn’t think of a better story to tell than hers . It was wonderful to live and breathe this fascinating and captivating woman for a few months and I just hope people now enjoy it as much as I’ve loved creating it. It was a real passion project that I’d quite like to do again one day with another story.
