Written for someone who thought that all one could play when they had limited technique was 'baby' pieces, these were created to prove them wrong. Though not discernible to the average listener, these pieces are easy to play but they don't sound like 'baby' pieces.
Some of the pieces incorporate her special little theme - a 'fanfare' - and some are reminiscent of her favorite composers.
The first piece, "Prologue", has echoes of Aaron Copland, while "Reverie" looks at the French Impressionism of Ravel and Debussy.
"S & M" parodies Erik Satie, and the music score here is littered with comments typically found in a Satie piano piece. This piece and "Quiet Fanfare" actually incorporate Peggy's theme
"Nocturne" and "Quiet Fanfare" emulate no one in particular.
Nocturne is a gentle poetic jazz ballad for Peggy, while Fanfare harmonizes her theme in various ways, and includes her 'note' at the very end!
Enjoy.
