Album Notes
"Long Red Road" by Karl Stephen Brunig, is the culmination of a dream to make a rich and creamy record with top Nashville musicians. Co-producer Larry Marrs (long time bass player with Marty Stuart), put together a team of Nashville power players to take these songs to a new level. Soaring steel guitar, sizzling back road fiddle, and driving guitars make this a most listenable work. It contains 6 songs, including the "Lady Red, White & Blue (Nashville Mix).
Hang out on "Saint Augustine Beach" with a eclectic cast of characters from history while a regular guy finally gets the girl and the car of his dreams. Walk down a mysterious "Long Red Road" somewhere in East Texas if you dare! You can kick back with a cool love song dreaming of "dancing shadows by the firelight" or get lost and soaked to the skin in a "Warm Summer Rain."
Karl tells the story in each tune with a mid-tenor range and an occasional growl. New Yorker Laurie Potter Hinds, ices the cake with clear and sweet soprano notes few can achieve.
Dave Williams (The O'Jays, Ten Wheel Drive, former Capitol Records A & R) calls it a "A fine record, a real wow!"
