Album Notes

“The Sound Of Freedom”

Karoline Blandin arranged and sings both lead and all background vocals of this exquisite translation by noted Canadian chanteuse/composer Joelle Rabu. The vocalist-actress has recorded and performed with some of the biggest names in French entertainment: Johnny Hallyday, Liane Foly, Etienne Daho, Michel Fugain, Mylene Farmer, Michel Sardou and Sylvie Vartan. She has also worked with international stars including Gloria Gaynor, Mariah Carey, Julio Iglesias, Sally Nyollo, Ray Lema, Chico Cesar, Joachim Kohln and recently with George Benson in his “Tribute to Nat King Cole". She performs as a headliner throughout France and Europe. Currently, she is acting in film and preparing a jazz CD. She will also star in a recording and stage show based on the life of Marilyn Monroe.

This release is the 1st single from the new CD “The Sound Of Freedom” from eclectic flautist, saxophonist, composer, producer and sound engineer Maurice Gainen. It is his 4th CD in 6 years. Maurice has again engaged his talented musical partners around the world via the Internet with 6 original compositions and other fascinating cover song choices besides “Fleur Sauvage”. He is well known in Los Angeles music circles and has mastered over 135 Starbucks music compilation CDs.

Before today, my French was limited to "croissant," which is a beautiful pastry. I've now added "Fleur Savage," a song which has a beautiful sound. Like so many of the tracks on The Sound of Freedom, this one demands my attention -- in a good way -- and then takes my breath away. Congratulations Karoline and Maurice.

This is a beautiful version of Wildflower! Amazing vocals, production, saxophone and arrangement!

We LOVE this music!!
We love this music! It's rich, sexy, and French...what's not to like? Get it for the beauty and depth of Blandin's voice and the perfect instrumentals that accompany her. You won't be sorry.

Karoline's soulful and rich voice trandscends the language barrier. I don't speak French and yet, her talent and vocal stylings spoke to me. And the saxophone player was awesome, who is that guy?"
