Album Notes
Twice as Nice features four original KPA songs, done two ways. The first set is called "Bells & Whistles" which is all fully produced with, well, all the bells and whistles. The second renditions on the album are called "Sweet Simplicity," and are either stripped down or down home versions of the four songs.

The album was inspired by two things:
1) With my hubby in my life, things are totally twice as nice, and we just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary this year!
2) I wanted to write songs of fun and love during a dark year that didn't feel like it had much of either. The truth is, there was lots of love, but sometimes that's difficult to see while wading neck deep in serious hardships.

Twice as Nice is dedicated to the fly-in-only community of Galena, Alaska, whose people consistently work hard to overcome the hardest of times, like the Memorial Day flood this year. The Yukon River, second largest in North America, jammed and diverted itself into this fly-in-only village, damaging every single home and business, even those on high ground. In just thirty minutes, the waters rose in Galena six feet, bringing the total flood depth to over nine feet. Over the short summer months since the flood, the Galena Rebuilders, through the Galena Bible Church, brought in around 250 volunteers from around the country, provided parts and materials for rebuilding, housed and fed workers and volunteers, and much more. They partnered with community, state and federal agencies & volunteer groups to make sure needs were taken care of on the ground. These same weary yet tireless folks brought in the missionary pilots who flew many round trips to evacuate over 200 mothers and children to safety the night of the surge.

The people of Galena are inspiring to me, and I hope this album brings smiles to the community, and to you.

Songs were engineered and mixed by Paul Tavenner at Big City Recording Studios in Los Angeles, except for "High" and
"You Are the One" which were engineered and mixed by Tero Potila at SoundFaktory in Santa Monica.
