Inspirations...
My Dad, Hal, bought me a guitar as a young teen and songwriting became my retreat. My mom, Arlene would ask me to play guitar when the power went out, which was often in the Catskill Mountains. My beautiful daughters, Arlene and Erica, inspired me to write them lullabies and work on some fun songs together. The joy I fi nd in writing children’s music is usually the result of just “hangin” with amazing kids. My granddaughters Murphy and Colette Deahl sparked ideas for Breeze & Trees and Honey Bees. Danielle Payette’s Art & Soul pre-school was inspiration for more than a few of the songs on this album: Kitty Kat, Chugga Chugga, That’s What Good Friends Do and Super Kid Caper. Niece Clare Boyer, inspired the title song of this album, as we used the name “Sherman” fr om her herd of toy horses, then rhymed it with German and the song was born.
