Blue Shoes

by Katie Schnorr

Katie's sweet and swinging jazz vocals, reminiscent of Blossom Dearie with a touch of Diana Krall, are perfectly complemented by the amazing guitar work of George Sawyn.

Album Notes
I love shoes.

They’re pretty.
They’re shiny.
They make me feel new.
They put a spring in my step.

But most of all,
Because they take me places.

A few years ago, I bought a pair of beautiful blue shoes. Then I put them in the back of my closet in a box, and told myself I wouldn’t wear them until I made good on my promise to make a record of jazz standards.

Six years later, here’s the record. And I finally get to wear my blue shoes.

Katie Schnorr has studied classical voice, piano, guitar, and most recently, accordian. She fell in love with jazz while living in Chicago in her 20's. When she finally found her musical partner George Sawyn, she knew it was time to make the jazz record of her dreams. Katie now lives, writes, and sings in Door County, WIsconsin where your neighbor is as likely to be a poet or painter as a teacher or lawyer. She hopes you enjoy the album, and if you're ever in Northern Wisconsin, come check her out at a local wine bar or music festival!
