"Kaya Oneida wrote, performed, recorded and produced all of these songs. Each one is charmed by her sweet voice and quirky instrumentation, combining an unabashed cuteness and kinetic imagination with musical chops. These songs reveal her instinct for composition and her fascination with a kind-of kalaidoscopic style of art-song."

"Lyrically, she finds inspiration in everything from traditional songs to cheerleading chants, singing in a natural, easy, way about endearing characters and funny situations: a boy who falls in love with the ocean, a girl who day-dreams about pints of beer, an ex-soldier addicted to video games, a bored kid calling on the sun to "rise up and light up the color of her life."

"Not everyone will understand or relate to the iconoclastic pastiche that is "Outsider Music," but those who do will want to make a place for Kaya Oneida amongst their most cherished artists."

Starts with a jolt of gritty staccato warmth reminiscent of a psychedelic Nickelodeon cartoon - coasting into simpler beats and drifty chords and fading out into a beautiful static saturated drone. It's Brian Eno and a TR-808 having a lovely lo-fi lovechild. I'll listen again.
