Album Notes
“Starstruck” is a pop, upbeat, feel-good song inspired by a story of meeting your first love. This is Kaylyn’s first single, which will be on her first EP coming Fall of 2018. She hopes it will take you back to the first time you were “Starstruck.”

Here is more info about Kaylyn Sahs:

At only 20, singer/songwriter Kaylyn Sahs is already making a name for herself in her hometown of Omaha as well as on the Internet and social media.

Kaylyn, a multi-instrumentalist whose widely-regarded covers include upbeat pop music by Carrie Underwood, Sara Bareilles, Ben Rector and others, has earned notoriety among a fan base who love her infectious energy and upbeat spirit. Her clear, slightly airy tone has occasional raspy undertones and is hard to compare with any other singer. Her voice has been described by others as being like that of pure gold. Kaylyn’s smile radiates her inner joy and she has a deep love for others.

Kaylyn graduated high school in May 2016 after an accomplished and award-winning career in music, choir and musical theater. During her senior year of high school, she attended the prestigious Tom Jackson Onstage Success boot camp for aspiring artists in Nashville and was selected to perform in the showcase. There, she was evaluated, coached and critiqued by artists, producers and Nashville insiders. Their resoundingly positive feedback gave her the final validation she needed.

With her parents’ blessing, she decided to forego a college career and to focus all her energy on her life-long dream of pursuing music as a career.

In summer 2016, Kaylyn was selected among dozens of contestants as one of the top 5 local artists from the Starfish Acoustic Stage Competition to open FishFest, a music festival, at Ralston Arena in Omaha, where she kicked off the concert for acts including Building 429, Matt Maher, Lauren Daigle, The Afters, 7eventh Time Down and Jordan Feliz.

In November 2016, Kaylyn traveled back to Nashville, where she recorded her first studio demo, a song she wrote entitled, “Joy Ride,” with Lang Bliss of Diff’rent Wirld Productions. She continues to write and produce additional music in between private engagements, gigs at local coffee shops and other venues in her hometown.

Kaylyn doesn’t remember a life before music. She began singing as soon as she could talk, and had her first on-stage performance at age 5. Even as a young child, she recalls hours of sitting on a piano bench with her older sister, singing, playing and composing. As her music interest grew and matured through school, she also attracted the attention of her church’s music leader and Air Force Band member, Clint Whitney. Whitney found ways to get her involved and on stage at an early age, continually investing in and guiding her development as an artist and performer.

That confidence gained on stage, fueled musical fire and desire to make music that offers a message of hope and shares the radiant joy and beauty of life. She cites the upbeat and inspirational music of Ben Rector and Carrie Underwood among her primary musical influences.
